SC09 Education Program

The SC09 Education Program event will occur November 14-17, 2009, in Portland, Oregon. Participants will be engaged in hands-on activities to engage them in applying computational science, grid computing and high performance computing resources in education. The deadline to apply for the SC09 Education program event is July 31, 2009. Participants of the summer workshop held August 9-15 at Oklahoma University will be given full consideration if registered before August 16, 2009.

Housing, travel, conference registration and meal costs are provided for participants. Participants are asked to pay a registration fee of $75 to cover food and materials. This fee will be refunded if notification of cancellations is received by October 1, 2009. Scholarships are available for people unable to cover the registration fee. Scholarship application instructions will be sent to participants once they are accepted.

Education Program participants are encouraged to stay for the full SC09 conference to benefit from all that the conference has to offer. Participants will need to cover their own housing and meals after November 17 through the remainder of the conference.

The program is open to undergraduate faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, and high school teachers. Instructors working with students with learning and physical challenges are encouraged to apply.

Registration for the summer 2009 and SC09 Education Program are being housed by the National Computational Science Institute, NCSI. To register for a workshop or apply for the Education Program, visit http://www.computationalscience.org.

First time users will need to create an account with NCSI before logging in to register. Individuals who have previously registered for SC workshops or the SC07 or SC08 Education Programs will be able to use their existing credentials.
